2022 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Program - read Inductee biographies for inspiration about the Athletic Hall of Fame!

1. The successful candidate for induction into the AEHS Athletic Hall of Fame must have demonstrated outstanding skill or service in AEHS athletics. Candidates, other than coaches, must be AEHS graduates of at least 10 years.

2. A successful candidate for induction will have demonstrated excellent character, citizenship, and leadership through and beyond their high school career.

3. Weighted consideration shall be given to:

• The number of activities in which an individual has participated.
  
• The level of recognition achieved in athletics in competition with all others of that time in Maryland, the DC Metropolitan Area, and the Nation.
  
• The achievement of exemplary status in a single sport or multiple sports, i.e., State Champion, professional recognition, outstanding college career.

4. Selections are made for the following awards:

• Athletic Achievement Award
• Pioneer Award
• Courage Award
• Career Achievement Award
• Coaches Award
• Founders Award
• Daniel Sandler Team Managers Award
• Mike Heid Volunteers Award

Selection Process

1. Anyone may suggest to the Executive Committee a candidate for induction into the AEHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

2. The Hall of Fame Executive Committee will present a list of approximately twenty (20) candidates to the Selection Committee.

3. The Selection Committee will rank the candidates numerically, with one being the highest rank, and will present its recommendations for nomination to the Executive Committee.

4. A nominee must receive two thirds of the votes of the Hall of Fame Executive Committee in order to become an inductee.

5. The Executive Committee will make the final decision on all inductees including anyone not processed through the Selection Committee.
