In 2005 at a reunion for the graduating class of 1964 the idea of creating an Athletic Hall of Fame was born and, in the fall of 2006, the first induction ceremony of the Albert Einstein High School Athletic Hall of Fame was held. Twenty-two athletes and two coaches comprised the inaugural class of inductees. Since that time as we are now well into the second decade of our existence. The Hall of Fame has grown to 150 inducted athletes and 15 coaches.
The vision adopted by the Hall of Fame in 2006 was to become an integral part of the athletic program at the school and provide scholarship opportunities as a continuous source of encouragement and reward for the most deserving student-athletes. The vision of the founders of the Hall of Fame was that through the recognition of past student-athletes current and future student-athletes would be motivated to achieve their greatest potential in both academic and athletic endeavor.
In the spring of 2008, the first two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each, the Jack Keller Legacy Award and the Kit Pardee Award, were granted. Both awards were created to recognize the best male and female athletes at the school. Since that time, six additional scholarships were established through the year.
In 2017, the Hall of Fame awarded in excess of $360,000 in scholarships to Titan student athletes. The Hall of Fame along with the supporters of the Hall is making a difference in the lives of Einstein student athletes in further support of the athletic programs. In November 2012, the Hall of Fame established the Athletic Funding Program. The program was created to work directly with the Athletic Director to identify funding needs to enable the school to purchase equipment and uniforms and participate in off-season clinics camps and leagues.
In 2018, we announced targeted fundraising activities to support the various sports activities and, of course, raising funds to ensure scholarship opportunities in the future.
As we look to the future, our mission and goals remain the same – to continue meeting the objectives for the organization established in 2006 by the founders of the Hall, support the student athletes with scholarship opportunities and provide financial assistance for the Athletic Department.
The Hall of Fame is making a difference at Einstein thanks to the generous support of businesses alumni and friends of the school. We hope that we can continue to count on your support in the future because of your efforts we are able to make a difference at the school and in the lives of the student-athletes.
The Albert Einstein High School Athletic Hall of Fame Association (HOF Association) is a private operating foundation, exempt under section 501(c)(3), and established to recognize and honor graduates of Albert Einstein High School (AEHS) who have brought fame and recognition to the school through their exemplary and outstanding contributions in athletics.
The HOF Association will seek to construct the history of AEHS athletics through an organized collection of documents, audio-visual media and other available memorabilia.
The HOF Association, through the recognition of past student athletes, will strive to motivate current and future students to achieve their greatest potential in both academic and athletic endeavors.
The HOF Association, in collaboration with AEHS faculty, staff and others, will seek to support school efforts in student athlete academic success through individual acts of recognition of current student athletes as members of school-recognized and supported athletic teams.
The HOF Association will create and maintain an athletic and scholarship fund. Donations from alumni, parents and friends of AEHS can be designated for a general fund or can be made in honor or memory of individual students or coaches. Funds generated through this program can be used to provide scholarship assistance to deserving student athletes, or to support the various needs of the athletic program. The HOF Executive Committee, along with the School Administrator and Athletic Director, will make the determination as to the use of the funds.
It is the goal of the AEHS Athletic Hall of Fame founders and members that the HOF Association will become an enduring testament to the spirit, dedication and achievements of past, present and future AEHS student athletes. It is envisioned that the HOF Association will become an integral part of the athletic program at AEHS and will serve to help motivate current and future student athletes to achieve greater successes both on and off the playing field. Furthermore, the HOF Association athletic and scholarship fund will provide a continuous source of encouragement and reward for the most deserving of AEHS student athletes.
